Uncle Glens Cabbages Chalk mural – Tauranga
Poppas Chalk are proud sponsors of Colouring Book City – Tauranga they create chalk murals drawn with inspiration from a local children’s book. Uncle Glens Cabbages was the inspiration for this chalk mural.
Sunday 20th November 2016 to celebrate the end of Bay of Plenty Garden & Art Festival Red Square in Tauranga was transformed into a giant chalk garden, children (and children at heart) ‘planted’ the garden with the help from our footpath chalk.
Uncle Glens Cabbages was first published in 1987 by Garry Carter and illustrated by Tauranga artist Sharon O’Callaghan. With the inspiration drawn from the book the organizers created an outline for the public to colour. As you can see from the photos bellow was a fantastic afternoon and enjoyed by many.
